Empower Men
The mission of the Men's Fellowship at Upendo Baptist Church is to equip and empower men to grow personally, professionally and spiritually through the work of the Holy Spirit into fully developed followers of Christ. We try to accomplish this by providing men with a wide variety of opportunities for discipleship, accountability and fellowship. These opportunities are provided in both small and large group settings.
Monthly Conferences
The Men's Fellowship is a time when Upendo men gather every 4th Saturday of the month starting at 12:00pm for a time of prayer, fellowship and discussion of various issues that pertain to men and their walk with the Lord. Occasionally, a speaker will be invited to address some of those issues.
Men's Annual Retreat
A retreat is organized once a year for the Men to get away from the familiar environment for a time of fellowship, study of God's word and fun with other Men. During this time we deal with special issues that pertain to Men, listen to special speakers, play new and old-time games, enjoy great praise and worship, spend time together in prayers, enjoy great food, get on-site counseling, and much more.
Bible Studies
The word of God is like a light in darkness to a Christian. Without the word we cannot survive the Christian life. It's with this in mind that the Men's ministry encourages men to be actively involved in any of the weekly bible studies. These Bible studies are held on Wednesday and on Sunday before the main service.
Men's Night Out
At various times during the year, the men of Upendo Church participate in a night-out (or day) of fun and fraternizing. During the occasion, men engage in activities such as bowling, golfing, soccer, volleyball, or basketball.
