We believe that God has a special place for the youth in the family of God. The youth are gifted with great energy, determination, and time to help fulfill God's mission.
We are committed to evangelize, disciple and equip them to be the kind of people who are useable by God.
Key Objectives
- To equip the youth with the gospel of our Lord and to facilitate their involvement in the ministry.
- To reach out to unchurched youth aged 13 - 18 years.
- To meet the unique needs of the youth so that they can reach out and impact other youth in the Dallas metro area.
- To link youth to mentors within our congregation.
- To involve the youth in ministries outside Upendo.
The ministry based youth program is centered on worship, fellowship, reaching out and discipleship. We have adopted the term "WORD" which constantly reminds us who we are and why we exit.
W orship our Lord
"Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind." We need to worship Him with prayer, songs, and words of praise, and memorizing the word.
O ffer ourselves to minister to those in need.
"Love thy neighbor as yourself." We need to help others in need.
R each out to spread the Good News
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit." We are charged with spreading the Word of God to all nations.
D isciple, build up and strengthen each other
"Teaching them to obey everything that I command." We need to help each other in our walk with Christ. We do this through encouragement, prayer and Christian counsel.
