UBC Music Ministry Mission Statement:
We are a team committed to worship the Lord in Spirit and
Truth. Committed to grow together in His love and wisdom and
committed to lead and live a lifestyle of Worship. (John 4:23,24)
At UBC, worshipping the Risen Powerful King is a key element
to what we do. In a typical worship service at UBC you will
experience a blend of contemporary worship music that ranges
in style and tempo from African beat, contemporary gospel, to
R & B and others. In our Sunday services we have the following
goals for our worship experience:
Celebrate the Lord
There is so much for us to be thankful for, it is so important
that we simply celebrate being in the house of the Lord, praising
him together for all He has done.
(Psalms 122:1 "I rejoice with those who said to me,
let us go to the house of the Lord.")
Praise that invites the presence of God
We desire God to WANT to be with us. We've got to raise acceptable
praise!
(Psalms 22:3 "But You are Holy, enthroned in the praises
of Israel.")
Worship that unleashes the Power of God
As we worship the Lord, it is our desire and goal that the Power of God would be unleashed upon us bringing freedom, liberty, healing, and all that goes along with a powerful God encounter.
(Acts 16:25-26 "...at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's chains were loosed.")
Preparation for the spoken Word of God
We believe that the model for getting into a place where God can touch your heart starts with praise and worship. If we are successful we will have hearts that have been softened and touched by the presence of God and will be prepared to receive the spoken Word of God.
(Psalms 100 "Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.")
